Online tutors in Sydney

Heights International Academy teaches Sydney students live online, one-to-one or in small groups, for HSC, IB and University subjects. Classes are scheduled in Australian Eastern Time (AEST/AEDT); other cities shown in local time, after school and at weekends, fees are shown in AUD, and the first class is free.

Sydney students sit the Higher School Certificate, and with school-based assessments running through Year 12 the pressure builds well before the October exams. Families across Greater Sydney, from the Hills District and Parramatta to the Northern Beaches and the Sutherland Shire, often find that driving to a tutor after school means a long evening in traffic. Online tutoring removes that trip. Sydney also has a large number of students from multilingual households who want targeted support in HSC English or maths extension courses.

Questions from Sydney families

Do you offer HSC tutoring in Sydney?

Yes, we offer online HSC tutoring for Sydney students in Mathematics Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and 2, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English. Tutors follow the NESA syllabus and practise with past HSC papers and marking guidelines. Tell us your subjects and your school's assessment schedule, and we will plan around them.

How much does a tutor cost in Sydney?

Tutor costs in Sydney vary with the subject, year level, tutor experience and whether lessons are in person or online. Our own fees are listed in AUD on our pricing page and apply to live online lessons with no travel. Year 11 and 12 lessons are priced at a higher tier than junior years.

When should my child start HSC tutoring?

Many students start HSC tutoring in Year 11 or at the start of Year 12, so support is in place before school-based assessments and Trial exams. Starting in Term 3 of Year 12 can still help with exam technique. Tell us your subjects and current marks, and we will suggest a plan.

Is online tutoring better than an in-person tutor in Sydney?

Online tutoring is often more practical than an in-person tutor in Sydney, avoiding long drives across the city and widening the choice of specialists. An in-person tutor provides supervision some younger students need. We teach online only and never send tutors to homes; parents can sit in on lessons.

Can you help with HSC Maths Extension 1 and 2?

Yes, we help Sydney students with HSC Mathematics Extension 1 and Extension 2, including proof, vectors, complex numbers and mechanics. Tutors work through the NESA syllabus and past HSC questions, focusing on clear setting out, which markers reward. Tell us your current topic and upcoming assessment dates.
