Online tutors in Melbourne
Heights International Academy teaches Melbourne students live online, one-to-one or in small groups, for VCE, IB and University subjects. Classes are scheduled in Australian Eastern Time (AEST/AEDT); other cities shown in local time, after school and at weekends, fees are shown in AUD, and the first class is free.
Melbourne students take the Victorian Certificate of Education, with school-assessed coursework through Year 12 and end-of-year exams that feed into the ATAR. Families across the city's sprawling suburbs, from Box Hill and Glen Waverley in the east to Point Cook in the west, often find that after-school tutoring means another drive. Online tutoring removes that journey. Melbourne also has many students from multilingual families who want help with VCE English or the demanding maths studies, Methods and Specialist.

Questions from Melbourne families
Do you offer VCE tutoring in Melbourne?
Yes, we offer online VCE tutoring for Melbourne students in Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, General Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English. Tutors follow the VCAA study designs and practise with past exams and examiner reports. Tell us your subjects and SAC dates, and we will plan lessons around them.
How much does a tutor cost in Melbourne?
Tutor costs in Melbourne depend on subject, year level, tutor experience and format. Our own fees are listed in AUD on our pricing page and apply to live online lessons, with no driving across the suburbs. VCE lessons are priced at a higher tier than junior years.
Can you help with VCE SACs?
Yes, we help students prepare for VCE school-assessed coursework (SACs) by revising the relevant content and practising the task types schools set. Tutors guide students on how to approach tasks without doing the work for them, in line with VCAA rules on authentication. Share your SAC schedule so we can plan ahead.
Is online tutoring better than an in-person tutor in Melbourne?
Online tutoring is often more convenient than an in-person tutor in Melbourne, because no one has to travel across a spread-out city and the choice of specialists is wider. An in-person tutor gives supervision some younger children need. We teach online only and do not provide home visits.
When should my child start VCE Methods tutoring?
Many students start VCE Mathematical Methods tutoring in Year 11 (Units 1 and 2), because gaps in algebra and functions make Units 3 and 4 much harder. Starting in Year 12 still helps, with more focus on exam technique and the technology-free paper. Tell us your current marks and SAC dates.
