Editorial policy

Last updated:

Heights International Academy's editorial policy explains where the exam information on this website comes from, how it is checked before and after publication, what we refuse to publish, how AI tools are used and how to report a mistake. It applies to every subject, country and resource page and every study guide.

Sources

Exam facts (syllabus codes, paper structures, marks, durations, series and grading) come from the official exam boards: Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR, the IB, the College Board, Pakistani boards, IBCC and others. We link to the official source wherever we can.

Which sources count as official?

We rank sources in this order: the awarding body's own syllabus, specification or regulations; the body's published dates, notices and grade threshold tables; government regulators and equivalence bodies (for example Ofqual, KHDA, ADEK, IBCC and PMDC); and only then universities and other institutions describing their own requirements. We do not use other tutoring websites, forums or social media as sources for facts.

How do we verify exam facts?

  • Syllabus codes, paper structures, marks, durations and weightings are copied from the current official syllabus for the years shown, and each subject page links to that document.
  • Grade thresholds are typed in by hand from the official PDF for that series, every row links to its PDF, and figures are never estimated or interpolated.
  • Dates (exam series, results days, registration deadlines) are given only when the body has published them; otherwise we say when they are expected and link to the official page.
  • Pages that state exam facts show a “last verified” or “last updated” date. We re-check them when boards publish new syllabuses, after each results day and at least once a term.

What we don't publish

We don't publish invented statistics, results, testimonials or tutor credentials. Reviews and results appear only when they are real and we have permission to share them.

How do we use AI?

We use AI tools to help research, draft and cross-check content, and the assistant on this site is an AI that can make mistakes. Every factual statement in a guide is checked against the official source linked from it before publication, and fees, availability and tutor matching are always confirmed by our team, not by the assistant.

Who writes and reviews our guides?

Guides are written by our academic team and reviewed by a tutor who teaches the subject. Each guide shows its author, its published and last-updated dates, and the sources it relies on.
