Online tutors in Doha

Heights International Academy teaches Doha students live online, one-to-one or in small groups, for IGCSE, A Level, IB and AP. Classes are scheduled in Arabia Standard Time (AST, UTC+3), after school and at weekends, fees are shown in QAR, and the first class is free.

Almost all of Qatar's international schools are in and around Doha, from Al Waab and Al Sadd to West Bay, The Pearl and Al Wakrah, and many families face long school runs. Online tutoring avoids adding another evening journey on the C and D Ring Roads. Doha's school mix is broad, with British, American, IB, Indian and Pakistani curricula. Many students are also aiming for university abroad or at Education City's branch campuses, so they want specialist help in specific subjects and admissions tests.

Where do Doha students sit their exams?

Exam centres and registration

Students sit exams at their school where it is a registered centre. Private candidates register for Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel exams through the British Council in Doha, which sets age and document requirements for private entries. SAT test centres are listed on the College Board website.

School calendar

Doha private schools typically run from late August to June, with breaks in December and around March. The Qatar National Day holiday on 18 December falls close to winter break. Ramadan brings shorter school days, and families usually prefer tutoring after iftar.

Questions from Doha families

Do you offer IB tutoring in Doha?

Yes, we offer online IB Diploma tutoring for Doha students in Maths Analysis and Approaches, Maths Applications and Interpretation, sciences, Economics and English. Tutors also help with internal assessments and extended essay planning. Tell us your subjects and whether they are SL or HL, and we will match a tutor with relevant IB experience.

Do you tutor IGCSE students in Doha?

Yes, we tutor IGCSE students across Doha's British-curriculum schools for Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel. Tell us the subject, board and tier, such as Core or Extended, and we will match a tutor who has taught that specification. Lessons mix topic teaching with past-paper practice marked against official mark schemes.

How much does a private tutor in Doha cost?

Private tutor costs in Doha depend on curriculum, level, tutor experience and lesson format. Our own fees are listed in QAR on our pricing page and cover live online lessons, so there is no travel charge wherever in Doha you live. IB and A Level lessons are priced at a higher tier than IGCSE.

Is online tutoring better than a home tutor in Doha?

Online tutoring suits many Doha families better than a home tutor because it avoids extra driving after school and offers a wider choice of specialists. A home tutor provides in-person supervision, which some younger children need. We teach online only and never send tutors to homes; parents can join any lesson.

Can you help Doha students prepare for the SAT?

Yes, we help Doha students prepare for the digital SAT, covering Reading and Writing and Maths, with practice on College Board's official tests. Tutors start with a diagnostic and plan sessions backwards from your test date. Check the College Board website for current test centres and dates in Qatar.
