Intermediate boards: FBISE, Punjab and Karachi
The Federal Board (FBISE) examines students in Islamabad, cantonment and garrison institutions and many Pakistani schools abroad. Provincial boards include the Punjab BISEs such as BISE Lahore, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa boards.
Paper patterns, textbooks and date sheets differ between boards, so we match tutors to the student's board.
Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and ICS groups
FSc Pre-Medical students study Biology, Chemistry and Physics, the usual route to MBBS and BDS through MDCAT. FSc Pre-Engineering students study Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, leading to engineering entry tests. ICS students usually study Computer Science and Mathematics with Physics or Statistics. All groups also take compulsory subjects such as English, Urdu, Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies, as set by the board.
FSc and entry tests
Admission to medical and engineering programmes in Pakistan usually combines FSc marks with an entry-test score, such as MDCAT for medical and dental colleges. Because the weighting is set by the admitting body and can change, students should check the current formula each year.
Our tutors can help students keep board marks strong while preparing for the entry test, and we also offer dedicated MDCAT preparation.
When are FSc / Intermediate exams and how are they graded?
Annual exams
Held once a year, usually in spring to early summer; results follow in the summer or early autumn.
Part I (1st year) and Part II (2nd year) exams are scheduled by each board; dates vary.
Supplementary exams
Held later in the year for improving marks or clearing failed papers.
Some boards call this the second annual exam; check your board's notice for eligibility.
How FSc / Intermediate is graded
Intermediate results are reported as total marks with a grade or division, combining Part I and Part II. Total marks and grade bands depend on the board and scheme of studies, and the IBCC has been introducing a revised grading scheme across boards. FSc marks feed into university and medical college admission aggregates, so they matter alongside entry-test scores.

FSc / Intermediate questions parents ask
Do you offer online classes for FSc 1st year and 2nd year?
Yes, we offer live online classes for FSc and ICS students in both 1st year and 2nd year. Subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science and English. Lessons follow your own board's syllabus and paper pattern, and can be one-to-one or in small groups, scheduled after college in your local time.
What is the difference between FSc Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering?
FSc Pre-Medical includes Biology, Chemistry and Physics and leads towards MBBS, BDS and other health sciences, while Pre-Engineering replaces Biology with Mathematics and leads towards engineering and many science degrees. Both include Physics and Chemistry. The choice should follow the student's intended degree, as switching later can be difficult.
Can you help with FSc and MDCAT preparation together?
Yes, our tutors can support FSc Pre-Medical students with board exams and MDCAT preparation side by side. Much of the MDCAT syllabus overlaps with Intermediate Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so strong board preparation helps both. We also run dedicated MDCAT preparation focused on MCQ practice and timed mocks closer to the test.
When are Intermediate exams held?
Intermediate annual exams are usually held in spring to early summer, with results announced in the summer or early autumn, but each board sets its own date sheet. Supplementary exams take place later in the year. Always check your board's official date sheet, as timings can shift from year to year.
Is ICS a good option for computer science degrees?
ICS is a common route into computer science and software engineering degrees in Pakistan, because it combines Computer Science with Mathematics. Some universities accept FSc Pre-Engineering students too. Entry requirements differ between universities, so check each programme's published criteria before choosing a group.
Do you teach FSc students living in the Gulf?
Yes, we teach FSc and ICS students at FBISE-affiliated Pakistani schools in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. Classes run in Gulf time, usually in the evening or at weekends, and fees can be shown in your currency on our pricing page. You can book a free trial class to start.
