Online tutors in Abu Dhabi

Heights International Academy teaches Abu Dhabi students live online, one-to-one or in small groups, for IGCSE, A Level, AP and IB. Classes are scheduled in Gulf Standard Time (GST, UTC+4), after school and at weekends, fees are shown in AED, and the first class is free.

Abu Dhabi's families are spread between the island, mainland suburbs such as Khalifa City and Mohammed Bin Zayed City, and newer communities on Yas and Saadiyat, so getting to an after-school tutor can mean a long drive. The emirate has a mix of public schools for Emirati students and private schools teaching American, British, IB and Indian curricula, all regulated by ADEK. Online tutoring gives students a specialist in their exact syllabus without that drive, which also suits families in Al Ain, about 160 km inland.

Where do Abu Dhabi students sit their exams?

Exam centres and registration

Students sit IGCSE, A Level, IB and AP exams at their own school where it is a registered centre. Private candidates can register for Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel exams through the British Council, which has an office in Abu Dhabi. SAT test centres are listed on the College Board website.

School calendar

Abu Dhabi private schools follow an ADEK-approved calendar, typically late August to early July with three terms. Friday is a shorter school day. During Ramadan, ADEK sets reduced school hours, and families often prefer evening tutoring after iftar. Summer is the main period for catch-up or a head start on the next year.

Questions from Abu Dhabi families

Do you have maths tutors for students in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. We tutor maths online for Abu Dhabi students at every common level, including IGCSE Mathematics, GCSE Maths, A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, IB Mathematics and AP Calculus. Tell us the board and syllabus code your school uses, and we match a tutor who has taught that specification, with lessons in Gulf Standard Time.

How much does a private tutor cost in Abu Dhabi?

Private tutor costs in Abu Dhabi depend on the curriculum, subject level, tutor experience and lesson format, so prices vary widely. Our own fees are listed in AED on our pricing page and cover live online lessons with no travel charges. IB and A Level lessons sit at a higher price tier than IGCSE.

Do you tutor American-curriculum students in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, we tutor students at American-curriculum schools in Abu Dhabi, including AP courses such as Calculus, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and SAT preparation for students applying to US universities. Tell us the courses your child is taking and the grade, and we will match a tutor who knows the AP course framework and the College Board exam format.

Can students in Al Ain join your online classes?

Yes, students in Al Ain can join exactly as students in Abu Dhabi city do, because every lesson is online. This is useful where a specialist in a particular IB, A Level or AP subject is hard to find locally. All your child needs is a laptop or tablet, a stable connection and a quiet place to work.

Is online tutoring a good alternative to a home tutor in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, online tutoring is a practical alternative for most secondary students in Abu Dhabi, giving access to specialist tutors without driving across the city. A home tutor provides in-person supervision that some younger children need. We teach online only, and if a private tutor visits your home, it is worth checking they hold the UAE private teacher permit.

Can you support IB Diploma students in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, we support IB Diploma students in Abu Dhabi across Maths, sciences, Economics and English, along with internal assessments and extended essay planning. Tutors work from the current IB subject guides and assessment criteria. Tell us your subjects and levels (SL or HL) so we can match a tutor with matching IB experience.
