How does the free trial class work?

How does the free trial class work?

The free trial is a full live class with a tutor who teaches your exact curriculum and subject. You tell us the board, subject and preferred times, we match a tutor and confirm on WhatsApp, and the class runs online. There is no card needed, and you decide afterwards whether to continue.

Can I get a free trial for online tuition in Pakistan?

Yes, every student in Pakistan can book one free trial class for O Level, A Level, IGCSE, Matric, FSc or any other subject we teach. Book through the free trial form or WhatsApp, and we schedule it in Pakistan time (PKT) with a tutor for your board. No payment details are needed, and nothing is charged afterwards unless you choose a plan.

Does the free trial turn into a paid plan automatically?

No, the trial never converts into a paid plan by itself. After the class we share the tutor's feedback and the options that fit, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan and confirm it with us. Many families compare two or three tutors' trial classes before deciding, and that is fine.

Who should attend the trial, the parent or the student?

The student attends the class, and parents are welcome to join the first few minutes. Many parents in Pakistan and the Gulf like to meet the tutor briefly, ask about the plan and then leave the student to work. We share the tutor's feedback with the parent after the class.

When are classes, and how long are they?

What timings are available for students in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or the UK?

We schedule classes after school and at weekends in your local time. Gulf students usually choose late-afternoon or evening slots in GST or AST, and UK students choose after-school slots in UK time. Tell us your preferred days and times when you book the trial and we match a tutor to them.

How long is each class, and how many classes are there a month?

One-to-one classes last 60 minutes and are booked individually or in monthly packs of 4, 8 or 12. Small-group classes last 75 minutes, with 8 classes per subject per month, usually twice a week, and at most 6 students in a group. Intensive exam preparation is 12 one-to-one classes a month, three a week.

Are classes one-to-one or in groups?

We offer both: one-to-one classes built around a single student, and small-group classes for students on the same syllabus. One-to-one suits students with specific gaps or tight exam dates; groups suit students who want regular, structured teaching at a lower monthly cost.

Can we reschedule a class?

Yes, a one-to-one class can be moved if you tell us at least 24 hours before it starts, and we rebook it with the same tutor where possible. Classes cancelled with less notice may be counted as taken. Group classes run on a fixed timetable, so a student who misses one receives the notes and homework instead.

Do you provide notes and past paper practice?

Yes, tutors share notes after each class and set past-paper questions from your exam board as a regular part of the course. Practice is marked against the official mark scheme, so students learn how marks are awarded, not just the content.

Who teaches, and how do you keep students safe?

Who are the tutors at Heights International Academy?

Heights International Academy has 15 subject experts, each with a published profile listing the degrees, institutions and teaching experience they supplied. They include PhD, MPhil and MS graduates from universities such as NUST, Quaid-i-Azam University and COMSATS, teaching Mathematics, the sciences, Economics, Business, English, Urdu and Islamiyat. The academy was founded by Asim Latif, its Founder & Academic Director.

How do you choose your tutors?

Tutors are selected for subject knowledge of a specific exam board and for teaching ability, through an application, a subject interview, a demo class and onboarding on safeguarding and class standards. We publish only the qualifications and experience that a tutor supplies to us. The about page describes the full process.

Is online tuition safe for children?

Online classes are safe when they follow clear rules: classes happen on a monitored platform, never on private social accounts, and parents can join or ask about any class. Our safeguarding page explains the rules our tutors follow. You can also request a female tutor.

Can we request a female tutor?

Yes, families can request a female tutor when booking, and we match one wherever a female expert teaches the subject and level. Several of our published subject experts are women, teaching subjects including Mathematics, the sciences, Economics, English and Business. Mention the preference on the free trial form or on WhatsApp so the first class is arranged that way.

Which curricula and exam boards do you teach?

Do you teach both Cambridge and Edexcel?

Yes, we teach Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel syllabuses, as well as UK boards AQA and OCR, the IB, Pakistani Matric and FSc boards, AP, SAT and Australian and Canadian courses. Each student is matched to a tutor who teaches their exact board and syllabus code.

Is online tuition effective for O and A Levels?

Online tuition can be as effective as in-person teaching when the class is live, interactive and focused on the student's exam board. Shared whiteboards, past-paper practice and regular feedback do the work; travel time saved goes back into study. The free trial lets you judge it for your child.

Can you help a student who is switching curriculum?

Yes, we can help students moving between systems, for example from Matric to O or A Level, or from a Gulf school to UK GCSEs. The tutor starts with a diagnostic of what the new syllabus expects and builds a plan to close the gaps subject by subject.

How much is the British Council exam fee for O Level private candidates?

British Council Pakistan shows Cambridge exam fees for private candidates inside its online registration system, and the amounts change every series, so we don't quote them. Fees must be paid by the registration deadline; later payments attract an extra late fee, and withdrawing costs PKR 1,500 per subject. Our private-candidate guide explains each step.

How do payments and refunds work?

Which payment methods do you accept?

Families in Pakistan can pay by bank transfer, JazzCash or Easypaisa; families in the Gulf by bank transfer or debit or credit card; and families in the UK, Canada, the USA and Australia by debit or credit card or bank transfer. We confirm the payment details on WhatsApp before your first paid class, and fees are charged in your own currency.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Unused prepaid one-to-one classes can be refunded or credited if you decide to stop, and refunds go back by the method you paid with where possible. One-to-one classes moved with at least 24 hours' notice are rebooked; later cancellations may count as taken. The full plain-English terms are on our refund policy page.

What happens if a tutor cancels a class?

If a tutor has to cancel, we offer a replacement class at a time that suits you or credit the class to your next month, whichever you prefer. You never pay for a class the academy cancels. We tell you on WhatsApp as early as possible and confirm the new time in writing.

Are missed group classes refunded?

No, missed group classes are not refunded individually, because group classes run on a fixed timetable for every student in the group. A student who misses a class receives the tutor's notes and homework so they can catch up. Tell us on WhatsApp if a student will miss several classes in a row.

What do you need for online classes?

What do we need for online classes?

A laptop or tablet, a stable internet connection and a quiet place are enough. A phone works in a pinch, but a larger screen makes the shared whiteboard and past papers easier to read. A headset with a microphone helps, and a pen tablet is useful for maths.

What happens if the internet or power goes out during a class?

If the connection drops, the tutor waits and the student rejoins as soon as possible. If a class is badly disrupted, we arrange time to make it up. Students in areas with load-shedding often join from a phone on mobile data as a backup.
