Online tutors in Mississauga

Heights International Academy teaches Mississauga students live online, one-to-one or in small groups, for Ontario high school, AP and IB. Classes are scheduled in Eastern Time (EST/EDT); western cities shown in local time, after school and at weekends, fees are shown in CAD, and the first class is free.

Mississauga students follow the Ontario curriculum through the Peel District School Board, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board or independent schools. The city is spread out and largely car-dependent, so getting to an after-school tutor often means a parent driving through rush-hour traffic on the 403 or Hurontario Street. Online tutoring removes that drive. Mississauga is also home to many South Asian and newcomer families, who often want help understanding Ontario's course pathways as well as subject support.

Where do Mississauga students sit their exams?

Exam centres and registration

Course exams are set by each school, and students meet Ontario's literacy requirement at school. AP exams are taken at schools that offer them, and SAT test centres in the Greater Toronto Area are listed on the College Board website.

School calendar

Mississauga schools follow the Ontario calendar from early September to late June, with March Break in mid-March. Board calendars set professional activity days and exam periods, which differ slightly between Peel and Dufferin-Peel. University applications through OUAC are usually due in mid-January.

Questions from Mississauga families

Do you tutor Peel District School Board students?

Yes, we tutor students from Peel District School Board and Dufferin-Peel Catholic schools in Mississauga, following the Ontario curriculum. Tutors cover Grades 9 to 12 maths, sciences and English, including U and M courses used for university and college admission. Tell us your child's grade and course codes when you enquire.

How much does online tutoring cost in Mississauga?

Our online tutoring fees for Mississauga students are listed in CAD on our pricing page and are the same across Canada. The cost depends on the grade or course level, one-to-one or small-group format, and how many sessions a week you book. There are no driving or travel costs.

We are new to Canada. Can you explain how Ontario high school works?

Yes, tutors can explain how Ontario high school works alongside subject lessons, including credits, course types such as U, M and C, and which Grade 12 courses universities usually require. This helps newcomer families plan course choices early. For formal guidance, your child's school guidance counsellor remains the main point of contact.

Is online tutoring better than an in-person tutor in Mississauga?

Online tutoring is often more convenient than an in-person tutor in Mississauga because no one has to drive in rush-hour traffic, and the choice of specialists is wider. An in-person tutor gives supervision some younger children need. We teach online only and do not visit homes.

Can you help with Grade 9 and 10 maths in Mississauga?

Yes, we help Mississauga students with Grade 9 and 10 maths, building the algebra, functions and problem-solving skills needed for Grade 11 and 12 university-preparation courses. Tutors follow the Ontario curriculum and your child's classwork. Starting early makes the step up to MCR3U and MHF4U much smoother.
