IBCC equivalence calculator

This free calculator estimates the equivalence marks the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) would give your O Level grades for SSC (Matric) or your A Level grades for HSSC (FSc), which Pakistani colleges, universities and MDCAT admissions ask for. It is an unofficial estimate; only IBCC issues equivalence certificates.

IBCC sets the A* value above 90, per subject and session. Enter the current published value if you know it.

An average of 81.3% across 8 subjects.

Unofficial estimate using IBCC's published grade values. Your official equivalence certificate comes only from IBCC, whose subject rules and A* values change by session.

Which grade values does IBCC use?

O or A Level gradeMarks per subject
A*Above 90 (set by IBCC for each subject and session)
A85
B75
C65
D55
E45

How does the IBCC estimate work?

Each grade is converted to marks using IBCC's published values (A = 85, B = 75, C = 65, D = 55, E = 45; for 9–1 grades, 8 = 87 down to 2 = 40). A* and grade 9 are set above 90 for each subject and session. The total is divided by the number of subjects times 100 and scaled to 1100.

How do you apply for IBCC equivalence?

IBCC accepts equivalence applications online through its equivalence portal, by walk-in appointment or by courier, and fees can be paid through 1Bill, Easypaisa, JazzCash or UBL (IBCC submission modes page, checked 4 October 2026). Apply once your final results are out; universities and MDCAT admissions ask for the IBCC certificate, not this estimate.

Where do O and A Level students go next?

IBCC equivalence questions

How is O Level equivalence calculated?

IBCC converts each grade into marks (for example A to 85 and B to 75), adds up the marks for the required subjects and scales the total to the Pakistani SSC scale. The A* value is set above 90 for each subject and session. This calculator follows that method as an unofficial estimate.

How long does IBCC equivalence take?

IBCC states its normal processing time on its website, with a faster urgent service for an extra fee. Times and fees change, so check ibcc.edu.pk before you apply, especially close to admission deadlines.

Do I need IBCC equivalence for MDCAT or university admission in Pakistan?

Students with O and A Levels usually need IBCC equivalence when an admission process in Pakistan compares applicants using SSC and HSSC marks. Check the requirements of the university or admissions body you are applying to.
